What does Affinity do?
Our Mission Statement lists the four broad areas in which Affinity is engaged, but the Partnership functions in a variety of practical ways:
As a Network
A means by which Biblically-centred churches and agencies can recognise and be introduced to one another, with the aim of developing a sense of community, leading to mutual trust and support.
As a Resource
Through the pooling of information, ideas, materials, gifts and personnel, in order to avoid unnecessary deficiency or duplication and so promote good stewardship and increased gospel effectiveness.
As a Catalyst
Introducing, facilitating and coordinating various gospel initiatives, especially in connection with the planting and recommissioning of vibrant, evangelical churches.
As a Forum
Where, together, churches may hear, discuss and reflect on what the Spirit is saying to them throuugh his Word, the Bible, in order to discern how to respond appropriately.
As a Voice
Applying the Word of God to public life and contemporary culture, with the aim of displacing popular but false perceptions of Christianity and of reviving a general awareness of biblical evangelicalism.
As a Stimulus
Recognising that gospel churches can easily become spiritually lethargic and need to rouse each other to resist departures from New Testament standards of life and doctrine.
As a Model
Humbly aware that it is a rare and precious thing when, despite differing convictions on secondary matters, churches committed to the historical, evangelical understanding of Bible and Gospel want to declare and demonstrate their essential unity.
