There is a church in Bridgend (South Wales) that is looking to hold a baptismal service and requires the use of a portable baptistery. Just wondered if anyone knows of one that might be available to borrow that is within striking distance of Bridgend?

thanks, Jim

We have one but alas we’re in Essex and it also takes a bit of a genius to work out how to put it together!  Hopefully someone else will come forward.

Thanks for the response, Dave. Shame you are so far away. Can I ask where you bought it from?

My understanding is that we acquired it from one of our partner Churches in the area when they got a new one, thirty-odd years ago.  It’s pretty much a wooden box with thick pond lining in, although looks a bit better than that.  So I’m not sure where we got it from.

I’ve just done a quick Google and have come up with a site listing several places to buy or hire baptistry’s from: http://www.baptism.org.uk/baptistries.htm
