Dear Friends,

Eleswhere on this website there are the findings of a report about men entering the ministry.Personally,as an aspiring pastor,I found this summary quite helpful. What do others think???

Is it me ( and it could be!) but are some churches far far to reticent about calling a man these days(my experience has largely been Grace Baptist and FIEC circles).I know we do have to be cautious(and patient!), but surely there is a sense in which prevarication is the thief of time? I went to one church for TEN Sundays with a view, and they couldnt make their mind up even then!

On the other hand,I see how pastors are treated and it does put me off.

TEN SUNDAYS??? Good grief. Frankly those churches who are willing to take a step of faith in calling a Pastor are harder and harder to find. There is a sad but inevitable end coming to many such places, and it is not the lack of a pastor per se, but the general attitude which has meant that opportunities to call a Pastor have been passed up, that attitude of burying the one talent in fear, which is burying the churches themselves.
