Evangelical Library Bursaries

Geoffrey Williams Bursaries

The Evangelical Library is pleased to announce the creation of the Geoffrey Williams Bursaries, named in recognition of the Library’s founder. The Bursaries are for the purpose of advancing understanding in some aspect of Evangelical Christianity, using the Library’s unique holdings to do so. Recently the Library opened its new Reference and Rare Book Room. The awards are intended for men and women in any aspect of the evangelical Christian ministry who share the general outlook of the Library, and who can demonstrate that their work would benefit from a period of concentrated study at the Library.

Each award carries an honorarium of £500, for travel or subsistence or materials, granted conditionally upon working in the Library’s Reference and Rare Book Room. The Bursary is to cover a fixed period of study, typically lasting over several weeks, and will normally be taken up in the summer months. An award-holder will be expected to become a member of the Library (if not already a member), and will be invited at the end of their study at the Library to provide a brief account of their work for one of the Library’s publications.

The letter of application should state in detail the proposed area of work, the qualifications of the applicant, and the period of intended study at the Library. The applicant should also arrange for one letter of reference to be sent in support of the application. Both letters should be addressed to the Chairman of the Trustees, preferably by email to elenquire@gmail.com, or posted to The Evangelical Library, 5/6 Gateway Mews, Ringway, Bounds Green Road, London N11 2UT. Telephone: 020 8362 0868 Email: elenquire@gmail.com. Website: http://www.evangelical-library.org.uk

These details are also posted on the Library’s website.
