Barcelona Attack

A van has ploughed into crowds in Barcelona’s Las Ramblas tourist area killing at least a dozen and injuring many more. There is an ongoing terror situation with the main suspect at large. Spanish police also say they have killed five people in the town of Cambrils to stop a second attempted van attack. These attackers were reportedly wearing explosive belts.

Graham Nicholls, Director of Affinity, urges us pray for the situation, to keep on preaching the gospel to ourselves and our needy world and to pray that our rulers respond wisely.

Pray for the security services to respond effectively. Pray for those treating the injured and comforting the mourning. Pray the leaders of our countries as they seek to understand the motivation for this warlike activity. Pray that God’s people might be true peacemakers. Pray that we may point people to Jesus the prince of peace.
