Responding to the government on Relationships and Sex Education

This is your opportunity to let the government know what you think children should –and should not –be taught about sex and relationships in school.

The Department for Education (DfE) is currently consulting on what should be included in the curriculum for primary school Relationships Education (RelEd) and secondary school Relationships and Sex Education (RSE) when the subjects become statutory in England from September 2019.The Family Education Trust has produced a very helpful summary of the key issues under each of the questions posed by the consultation. We would encourage as many people as possible to read the document and, in their own words, make a response.

This consultation closes on February 12, so there is not much time left to make our voices heard…
