Thought of the Day – Monday

Each morning this week, Graham Nicholls, our Director, is offering the Thought of the Day on Premier Christian Radio and Premier Praise. You can hear the Thought of the Day around 7.20am on Premier Christian Radio and 7.40am on Premier Praise.

Here is the text of what Graham shared this morning:

A child of God knows who Jesus is

John was an apostle of Jesus and wrote the gospel of John and three letters that are in our Bibles. He loves the Christians that he wrote to like they were his own family and he wants them to be really clear on who Jesus is, who they are and what it means to live as part of the family of God.

In chapter one of his first letter he reminds them that what they knew about Jesus was real. He says it’s something they have “heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked at and our hands have touched – this we proclaim concerning the Word of life.”

John had seen and heard and experienced Jesus, close up. And he is telling them, and telling us, all about it.

The reason he is doing that is not just so they can know what they believe but, much more importantly, so they can know that God is their friend.

Jesus the Son of God gave his life on a Roman cross in our place to make us clean before God and so we can have the closest possible fellowship with God.

And all we need to do is own up to our sin and step out of the darkness and into the light. Will you do that?

My name is Graham Nicholls and I’m the Director of Affinity, a partnership of gospel churches. May God bless you, have a great day!
