Thought of the Day – Wednesday

Each morning this week, Graham Nicholls, our Director, is offering the Thought of the Day on Premier Christian Radio and Premier Praise. You can hear the Thought of the Day around 7.20am on Premier Christian Radio and 7.40am on Premier Praise.

Here is the text of what Graham shared this morning:

Being a child of God means we are going somewhere better

In John chapter 3, verse 2, John has told us we really are the children of God but then he goes on to say something amazing: “what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when Christ appears, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is.”

There are some unanswered questions about what happens to us when Jesus comes back and we begin life in the new heavens and the new earth.

What are we going to look like? Will we still have the same hair or lack of hair? There are emotionally challenging questions, like how are we going to feel about people that we know and love who are not there? Or what about sad memories?

But John says, don’t worry about that. The main thing is that you’re going to be with Jesus and you’re going to be like Jesus.

For now, our view of God is always limited and restricted but then it will be completely uninhibited by our sin and weakness.

And being like Jesus means we are going to live forever like him and live forever with him.

In the age to come we will truly see God and live to enjoy it.
