Thought of the Day – Wednesday

Each morning this week, Graham Nicholls, our Director, is offering the Thought of the Day on Premier Christian Radio and Premier Praise. You can hear the Thought of the Day around 7.20am on Premier Christian Radio and 7.40am on Premier Praise.

Here is the text of what Graham shared this morning:

Jesus says our top priority is the kingdom of God.

If you are a follower of Jesus, a Christian, there are many good things which are part of your life.

There’s your family. You want to serve them and to spend time with them.

Then there’s work – you need to do it so you can pay your way. But for most of you, there is some enjoyment in the work, or at least in the people you work with.

And there is the whole sensory experience of enjoying the world God has made – the countryside, our hobbies, our friendships, entertainment, great films, the music we love.

You can seek God’s kingdom as you do those things. But your priority, as you do them, is the kingdom of God.

You are always asking: Is Jesus my Lord as I do life?

Is Jesus leading me in my family life?

Is Jesus helping me work well because it’s for him and he’s always looking?

Is Jesus pleased with what I am watching and how I am spending my time?

Are you seeking first God’s kingdom as you do life with Jesus in charge?

My name is Graham Nicholls and I’m the Director of Affinity, a partnership of gospel churches.
