Teams

Each of Affinity’s four mission statements is driven by a small team dedicated to putting its aims into effect. There are now four teams, and articles published by these teams can be found in this section.

Gospel Partnership ( 0 articles)

Approximately 1300 churches and agencies are aligned with Affinity. Our longing is that many more churches and agencies will come increasingly to appreciate the relevance and value of identifying themselves with those who share the same clear, biblical convictions and desires. In order to encourage this, the Gospel Partnership Team meets regularly and seeks to promote the following:

Facilitating the formation and development of regional and local church partnerships; Fostering mutual recognition, understanding and respect across traditional divides; Enabling the sharing of resources and best practice; Supporting the planting and re-commissioning of Bible-centred churches; Commending appropriate training for gospel ministry; Sponsoring church-centred conferences and activities

The Social Issues Team deals with 'citizenship' issues in the realms of medical ethics, education, the media, work, law, politics, marriage and parenting, disability, gender and much more.

This strong team, which includes nationally-acknowledged experts in their field, passes on its advice and comment to churches via The Bulletin. It also makes submissions to consultations initiated by government and other authorities.

Theological Advocacy ( 4 articles)

The Theological Team keeps a close eye on the theological scene in order to inform churches about current trends and debates. It also provides other helpful resources. For example, it has recently conducted a comprehensive survey of theological training courses and is preparing to release a series of practical guides for ministers' fraternals.

The Team commissions books through its Facing the Issues series (Day One Publications) and also produces the theological journal, Foundations and the occasional briefing Table Talk, which concentrates on one particularly topical theological theme.
