The paper defines the types of crisis situations that may arise during the overseas service of missionaries, provides links to useful resources available on the internet for responding appropriately to such crises and outlines appropriate procedures for church leaders when faced with such situations.
It then gives guidelines concerning communicating, during a crisis, with:
- The missionary
- The family of the missionary
- The church family
- The media
It briefly speaks to the importance of debriefing and counselling when the crisis has ended.
