Physical attraction and sexual intercourse are gifts from God to be received gratefully and enjoyed in His common grace. By His created order and explicit revealed purpose for all cultures at all times, marriage between a man and a woman is the only proper context for sexual relationships. Marriage is so fundamental to human life that it was a feature of the perfect life which God created before our fall into rebellion against Him. It is given for intimate companionship between a man and woman, and as the most appropriate context for nurturing children.
