The Bulletin (March 2008)

imageWelcome to this seventh issue of The Bulletin, published by Affinity’s Social Issues Team to keep evangelical churches and individual Christians informed of the implications of legislation and public policy on social issues in the UK.

The Human Fertilisation and Embryology Bill, due to be debated in Parliament in April, has the potential to “dismantle the fundamentals of human life.  It is a tragedy that our society has descended to so low a moral and ethical understanding of life.  In the March issue of The Bulletin, Dr John Ling both analyses the issues at stake, and reminds us of what we can do about it.

Also in this issue of The Bulletin, Peter Fearnley offers a critique of the government’s definition of science, and of its current policy on the teaching in the classroom of creationism and intelligent design.

Rod Badams has studied the 164-page report of an inquiry panel which investigated a case of child abuse by a gay couple who were foster carers in Wakefield, and comes to some disturbing conclusions.

As usual, there is a range of news and facts on other subjects, with the emphasis, as usual, being given to information which you will not have read elsewhere.
