Thought of the Day – Friday

Each morning this week, Graham Nicholls, our Director, is offering the Thought of the Day on Premier Christian Radio and Premier Praise. You can hear the Thought of the Day around 7.20am on Premier Christian Radio and 7.40am on Premier Praise.

Here is the text of what Graham shared this morning:

Peter writes his second letter to encourage Christians to be certain about what they believe, careful about what they teach and ready for Jesus’ return.

This week we have been learning how we can rely on what God has done and what he will do.

Peter ends his letter by reminding them that Jesus is returning. This global event will be surprising to many – like a thief coming just when you don’t expect it.  

When Jesus returns he is going to destroy this present world. That might sound scary, but it’s a good thing because he promises to make a new one that is so much better, one that will last forever.

In view of the coming judgment he says in chapter 3, verse 11 “what kind of people ought you to be?” The answer is that we are to be godly, holy people living lives that please our heavenly Father.
