New Affinity member – Faith in Later Life

We are delighted to welcome another new Associate Member into the Affinity family. Faith in Later Life is a relatively new organisation which aims to “inspire and equip individual Christians and churches to reach, serve and empower older people in every community, that they may live fulfilled and fruitful lives in older age (Psalm 92)”.

Their desire is to:

Inspire and equip individual Christians and churches in ministry with older people in churches

Reach older people outside churches with the gospel

Their main activities and services can be found on their website:

A resource hub – with over 100 books and resources covering many different aspects of later life (60% of content is free and downloadable)

Practical guidance for churches in setting up groups for those in later life

A national directory of activities – currently with over 2,300 activities which churches have told them they are holding, suitable for all older people (churched or unchurched), for example lunch clubs. (Churches can add any activity they are holding by submitting it via the website.)

They also have a Facebook page and Twitter account with over 2000 followers which anyone can join.

If people are interested they can sign up to the monthly email update via the website  and if they want additional support and have a heart for ministry with older people (whether doing it or not) they can sign up to be a Faith in Later Life Church Champion.
