The Summer 2025 edition of Foundations has been published

We are delighted to publish the latest issue of Foundations, Affinity’s theological journal, now available to read online, download for free, or purchase as a printed copy.

This compelling edition, themed “Great God of Wonders,” presents thought-provoking papers from the 2025 Affinity Theological Study Conference on the doctrine of God, complemented by insightful book reviews. It’s an essential resource for pastors, scholars, and anyone eager to explore the profound nature of God.

Mostyn Roberts opens with a stirring exploration of “The Power and Personhood of God,” connecting divine power to the weakness of the cross and the church’s mission. Robert Letham’s “Faith and Reason: Reflections on Belief in God” offers historically rich insights through Aquinas and Anselm, illuminating the wonders of divine truth. Thomas Brand navigates divine impassibility, delivering a robust defence of classical theism that repays careful study. Steven Duby bridges Christology and the doctrine of God, revealing Christ’s human suffering as a window into God’s engagement with humanity. Finally, Michael McClenahan evaluates modern trinitarian theology against historic creedal standards, underscoring the timeless majesty of orthodox doctrine.

As outgoing editor, Donald John MacLean reflects on his five years with Foundations. He expresses deep gratitude for the privilege of stewarding such exceptional contributions, noting that this issue exemplifies the journal’s legacy of theological depth and fidelity. We warmly welcome Rev. Dr. Malcolm MacLean, who will carry the journal forward with great skill.

Whether you’re a theologian, ministry leader, or curious believer, this edition of Foundations invites you to marvel at the “Great God of Wonders.” Explore it online, download it for free, or order your copy on Amazon.
